“Healthy citizens are the greatest asset any country can have” Winston Churchill

Think about all of the ways you can fit activity into your day and save time. This statement may seem like an oxymoron, but if you get creative you really can fit in more exercise without giving up much more of your precious time. Here are a few suggestions:

1. Walk the dog instead of standing there watching them do their business in the yard
2. Take the stairs instead of waiting for the elevator
3. Find the furthest parking spot away from your destination and park there instead of driving around for 10 minutes trying to find the best spot
4. Ride your bike or walk to the grocery, gym, restaurant, etc. instead of sitting at stop lights in rush hour
5. Ditch all Drive-throughs!
6. Mow your own grass and clean your house. Haha…I must admit I’m a lousy housekeeper and I don’t like yard work, so I prefer to have other people do these chores while I’m at the gym! But if you look at calories burned in an hour or more of these activities you will equal your time driving to the gym, getting a 30 minute workout and driving back with about the same energy spent.
