Enough Corny Turkey Jokes!

But, I do have some good ground turkey recipes :):

Ground turkey, white bean chili:
1 lb. Ground turkey
Chopped onions
Chopped peppers (I used orange because they were on sale)
Chopped celery
Chopped jalapeno pepper – flake out the seeds if you don’t want it too spicy
Dash of Worcestershire
Dash of kitchen bouquet
Dash of cumin
Dash of Tony Cacherere’s Gumbo File
Dash of cilantro
1 T chili powder (Sorry, I don’t measure anything except the chili powder because I don’t want too much 😦
Can of stewed tomatoes
Can of pinto beans
Can of northern beans

Brown ground turkey with chopped onions, pepper, celery, Worcestershire, kitchen bouquet, and spices. Add jalapenos, beans, and tomatoes. Transfer to crock pot. Add 1 can vegetable broth or chicken broth. (My dad, “depression era”, would never waste food, so he says to pour the broth into the empty can of tomatoes and then pour it into the pot to not waste any extra tomato juice).
Transfer to crock pot and let simmer on low all day.

When ready to serve, you can just scoop it out OR treat it like nachos which is what my kids like
Put it in an individual serving dish and place corn tortillas and shredded cheese on top
Broil for a minute or two to melt the cheese
AND enjoy! I eat something green on the side…a green salad, steamed broccoli, or something like that!

Beverages: Normal 70-90 ounces water, 2 cups coffee in AM, large unsweetened tea in PM
Exercise: Taught Integrated Strength 1 hour, taught cycling 1 hour
• Yogurt with Berries and gluten-free granola, probably 2 or 3 cups worth
• Salad with greens, avocado, broccoli, carrots, yellow pepper, tomato, blue cheese, free-range turkey about 1/3 lb., fresh lemon juice, olive oil, sea salt; Note: lemon juice is alkaline whereas vinegar is very acidic if you are trying to reduce acidic foods, try this tip
Snack: Apple, beanitos
White-bean turkey chili and greens. See recipe above 🙂
Rich ate several helpings, so must be good. He is overly honest with my not-so-good recipes 😦
