Reach out of your comfort zone and try something new! It is much too easy to get into an exercise routine and do the exact same thing every week. The problem is we tend to hit plateaus and not see much in the way of improvement (ie strength, endurance, muscle definition, etc.) One of the great ways to fix this issue is to try a new workout. As the weather gets warmer, try to find outdoor recreation that is new to you! Western North Carolina has numerous activities … hiking, backpacking, horseback riding, rock & mountain climbing, canoeing/kayaking, to choose from. Search for activities in your local area to try with a friend!
My husband and I were fortunate to have attended a conference in Hawaii this past week and I tried “Floating Yoga!” We paddled out on boards and did an entire yoga class on the ocean. It was so challenging to try to maintain balance with the waves and natural movement of the board. This was one of the toughest workouts I have ever done!
